re: Raid loot: Distribution

0

Hello all,

In light of recent events I find it time to address raid loot distribution moving forward. Raid loot is a complicated topic as there is no 1 system that best rewards all players equally. That being said our raid group does an amazing job self governing raid loot and sharing the wealth with other members if an item is not optimal for ourselves.

After much discussion with the members of our loot council - Apokhawk, Nightdemon, and Prodigy, as well as several of our raiders it is very apparent that there is not a singular answer that will satisfy everyone. However what I can provide is be transparent as to what has been, and will continue to be used in determining loot placement.

additionally moving forward our loot council will be Apokhawk, Nightdemon, Prodigy, as well as 1 random member of the raid core each night. If a decision can not be made on an item Cowa will be the deciding vote.

Raider:

When determining the placement of any one given item we review four major areas.

1. Attendance & Attitude

Attendance is further reviewed in various sub categories.

a.)  Does this individual show up to raids or give ample advanced notice if unable to attend.

b.)  Is this person at the raid instance ready to work on trash prior to raid time.

c.)  Does this raider come prepared with an adequate supply of personal consumables (flasks, max stat food, potions, tomes, defiled runes)

d.)  Is this raider attentive, social, and responsive to instructions or does this person cause arguments and drama during raid time.

2. Personal Optimization

Personal optimization is how much does this person do to help themselves. What content is this individual doing daily and weekly outside of scheduled raid time to attempt to optimize their gearing and character. Simply put, if you have an item that you could upgrade, you are expected to be doing content to get that item don't expect it to be magically given to you as charity.

3. Group Benefit

Group Benefit is how much does this person do for the raid group / guild as a whole. I understand that everyone has a set amount of personal time they are willing to commit to this game. However when determining the placement of an item we must reward players who actively engage in guild group activities such as raids, dungeons, and farm content. Players who are online throughout the week engaging in guild group activities will firstly get more use out of the item and in turn help more guild members by working through more difficult content. Also I am not looking to reward players who wish to only show up during raid time and feel loot is an entitlement they should receive regardless of their personal benefit.

4. Performance

Performance is a combination of various factors such as your damage done, healing taken, deaths, following of raid instructions. Warcraft logs is a wonderful tool however may not depict the entire picture, the raid loot council is aware of this.

Raider Recruit:

Individuals of the raider recruit status. This is a two week trial period in which an individual is getting to know us, our raid, and we are getting to know them. During this time individuals in this category are not a priority for loot. After their recruit status is over individuals within this category are judged equally with their peers.

EPGPLOOTMASTER

The addon we use during raid to receive loot is EPGPLOOTMASTER

If you do not have this item installed you will not receive loot.

Loot categories:

Main Spec

If an item drops that you will use for your Main Spec used within raids, please select the Main Spec button. All Main Spec rolls must have a note along with this selection (example - item has better secondary stat)

Off Spec

If an item drops that you will use for your non-primary raiding spec, please select the Off Spec button.

Minor Upgrade

If an item drops that you wish to try to change gear sets for to see if it may be beneficial for you, select this option. If you wish to re-roll on a tier token piece select this option. Clarification on tier. If you have an 875 version of tier item and we are in Heroic or Mythic where the base item level of the item is by default substantially higher than your existing gear, put Main Spec as your loot option. If you have an 895 heroic version of the tier item, and the heroic tier token drops and you wish to roll on it to see if it rolls to a higher item level, select Minor Upgrade option.

Pass

If you cannot use the item or do not want the item

Heroic raids will be done on a personal loot basis. Bosses dropping tier loot items will be on Guild Master Looter using EPGPLOOTMASTER system based on information contained above.

Mythic raids will be done on a Guild Master Looter setting.
